Description:

When Sodium hydroxide is combined to carrier oils they create a chemical called saponification and as it cures, the lye and oil molecules have combined and chemically changed into soap and glycerin. If the soap is made properly, the lye is used up in the saponification process to turn oil into soap.

Sodium Hydroxide can also be used to neautralize acid levels. Lye is a Caustic material. Be very careful in handling this.
